Our Philosophy

Creating a ‘Home away from Home’ for all to enjoy and connecting with children, their families and our communities.

Our Programs

Creating enriching and evolving programs based on Children’s interests to expand their leisure time and learning.

About us

BAC is a proud not-for-profit incorporated association and Child Safe organisation operated by a volunteer Parent Management Committee that has been proving outstanding care to children for the past 30 years! We believe in building authentic connections with our children, families and community both locally and afar to create meaningful, fun and engaging programs that makes everyone feel welcome and included.

We would like to acknowledge the Gweagal People of the Dharawal Nation as the traditional owners of this land on which we live, meet, work and play. We pay our respects to all Dharawal people, their families, their children and their elders past, present and emerging and recognise they hold the memories and continued connection to the land, waters and community we call home.

Come visit us

Located with the grounds of Burraneer Bay Public School, set on the beautiful southeast Sydney coastline & Dharawal Nation Land, we hope you take the time to wander down to our wonderful purpose-built room to see all the exciting projects we have in the works – from gardening to science, board games and sport, there is something for everyone to explore!

Our Philosophy

BAC is a child’s place to play laugh learn and explore in an environment that is caring, fun and supportive.

It is a place for everyone to feel a sense of comfort and belonging, where we embrace diversity and aid in the development of friendships within our community,

We recognise and appreciate the needs of middle childhood development and encourage children to participate in stimulating recreational-based activities promoting healthy lifestyles, where tolerance, independence and life social skills are fostered.

Here at BAC we are advocates for children’s rights and are committed to ongoing improvement and becoming more sustainable as a service.

Our Programs

Our programs are created and facilitated by our wonderful Educators in partnership with the children and our families. Our programs are flexible and responsive to fully cater to each individual with the hopes of fostering relationships, social interaction and physical development.  We have a large range of planned activities, as well as plenty of opportunities for spontaneous play and decision-making. We do our best to offer meaningful and engaging experiences that give children the best possible outcomes for learning.

Your Checklist for your Enrolment

1: Once you have been notified of your placement – it’s important to carve out half an hour to an hour to complete your online enrolment forms using Xplor. we ask that you please be specific! Each question has great merit and enables us to best program and cater to your little ones.

You will need quite a few documents as well and we recommend you gather the following before you start:

  • A photo of your child
  • Your child’s Birth certificate
  • Medicare & health care details
  • Any in-date medical documentation eg. Asthma/anaphylaxis plan
  • Your Customer Reference Numbers & Your Childs Customer Reference Number (Required for Child Care Subsidy)
  • 2 – 3 Emergency Contacts for your child and their details (names, mobile numbers & email addresses)

2: Complete your Bond & Levy Payment. Details will be provided within your official enrolment email; however, this must be completed before your child’s commencement.

3: Arrange your child’s induction times with the centre. This is a time to finalise your enrolment requirements, show you around Xplor and ask any final questions! We also ask if your child has any medical conditions that require medication (e.g. Anaphylaxis or Asthma) that you bring along your child’s in-date medical plan, a supply of medication for your child’s medical bag that will stay on-site at BAC and allow extra time to complete the required medical paperwork.

3 tips for attending your First Day!

1: Pack extra food! – in case your child doesn’t like our set afternoon tea or breakfast items, feel free to send along some extra snacks for your child to munch on!

2: Come in early – on these first few days come in earlier before drop offs and collections – this way you and your child can spend some time in our room together to see what BAC is all about!

3: Get a good nights sleep! – we know the excitement will keep you awake, but do try to get a good night sleep the night before as your child may feel the longer days while getting used to their new routines!
